A few words about us

A Chance For Kids is involved in activities for all of the children in Haiti. Our activities comprise of social and athletic events and most importantly educational programs. Some examples of the activities are soccer games and reading lessons. These programs will be offered in our facility and lead by our volunteers. Through these activities we hope that we are able to better educate the youth while helping them to grow and support each other.

 

Our vision

In addition, we will help the children get to health clinics in order to receive regular checkups and any necessary medicine. Our goal is that this orphanage will exist in Haiti, which has many poor neighborhoods and homeless children. Our volunteers from the United States and Haiti will be responsible for operating the orphanage. A Chance For Kids will visit local churches in Haiti to find volunteers that are willing to work with the children. We will also hire a full time staff member from the local area to direct the orphanage. The board members will visit frequently to monitor the activities of the orphanage. Our first facility will most likely be small and will probably house around a dozen children. The cost of renting a facility of this size will be approximately $200 USD per month.

We are also receiving donations for clothing, educational materials, and other supplies that can be given to the children. Our organization is 501c3 tax deductible making your contribution tax exempt. All of these activities will take place in the United States. The majority of these funds will go directly to the costs of maintaining and operating the orphanage. Our volunteers from the United States will travel to Haiti on their own expenses. Our hope is that through the funding we receive, we can make a true difference in the lives of the children.
